Уметничко образование засновано на дисциплина (DBAE)
With a focus on providing the best education for her students, Nancy Kutsup attended the week-long Hands and Minds Institute offered by the Art Educators of New Jersey. This opportunity allowed her to learn from some of the best educators in the nation. After a week of intense training, Mrs. Kutsup was able to write curricula in the visual arts that addressed all areas of visual art: art history, criticism, aesthetics, and production, as a basis for creating, understanding, and appreciating works of art. She completed curricula for six courses at the high school and later collaborated with art teachers at all levels to help rewrite curricula, ensuring a proper continuum of education in the visual arts.
Discipline-Based Art Education (DBAE) is an educational approach that emphasizes the study of art through four disciplinary areas.
Here are the key points of DBAE:
-
Disciplinary Approach: DBAE integrates four key disciplines in art education:
-
Art History: Studying artworks from different cultures and historical periods to understand their context, styles, and significance.
-
Aesthetics: Exploring concepts of beauty, creativity, and expression in art, encouraging critical thinking and reflection.
-
Art Criticism: Developing skills to analyze and interpret artworks, discussing their meaning, techniques, and cultural influences.
-
Art Production: Engaging in hands-on artistic creation to apply knowledge gained from art history, aesthetics, and criticism.
-
-
Curriculum Integration: DBAE seeks to integrate art education across the curriculum, connecting artistic learning with other subjects such as history, literature, and science.
-
Skills Development: It focuses on developing both artistic skills (through production) and analytical skills (through history, aesthetics, and criticism) to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of art.
-
Critical Thinking: DBAE encourages students to think critically about art and its role in society, promoting creativity, cultural awareness, and personal expression.
-
Holistic Learning: By exploring art through multiple disciplinary lenses, DBAE aims to provide a comprehensive and enriching educational experience that enhances students' cognitive and emotional development.
-
Assessment: Assessment in DBAE often includes both qualitative and quantitative measures, evaluating students' understanding of art concepts, their ability to create art, and their capacity for critical analysis and reflection.
-
Teacher Training: DBAE emphasizes the professional development of art educators to effectively integrate disciplinary approaches into their teaching practices and curriculum development.
DBAE aims to cultivate a well-rounded appreciation for art while developing essential skills that extend beyond the art classroom, enriching students' educational experiences and promoting lifelong engagement with the arts.
